The Triumphant Return of 8.5 Dodgeball
Hey Big Apple Family,
Our Fall season provided a unique set of challenges for the league and our home for 8.5 Dodgeball. The venue for 8.5 Dodgeball in the Spring abruptly ended communication with us, and we were left to identify a new home. At several points it appeared that we had secured a venue for the sport, only for the venues in question to pull the carpet out under us in the last minute. A special shout-out goes to our 8.5 and No-Sting Dodgeball Directors and Operations managers, who worked tirelessly to secure us a home for the sport.
We are excited to announce, however, we have officially signed a contract to host 8.5 Dodgeball for the Winter and Spring 2023 Seasons. We will be at Avenues School in Chelsea, a beautiful and spacious facility that we hope will become a long term home. Part of this new home brings a new time for the sport, but we are still actively exploring a weeknight option for 8.5 Dodgeball.

Dodgeball Open Play Details:
Who: Anyone! Seasoned dodgeball player? Great! A newbie who wants to give it a try? No problem! Come one, come all!
Information: We will be hosting three Open Play nights, prior to the Mini Winter Tournament season start. You can sign up for the first Open Play, on 12/3/22, below. You will be able to sign up for the remaining two Open Play nights one week prior.
When*: 12/3/22 & 12/10/22 from 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm, 1/7/23 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Where: Avenues The World School, 259 10th Ave, New York, NY 10001
Price: FREE!
Mini Winter Tournament Details:
When*: January 21st - February 25th, 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm (note: we will skip 2/18/23 to align with Winter Recess)
Where: Avenues The World School, 259 10th Ave, New York, NY 10001
Format: 8 person minimum per team, 10 person maximum. You will be able to sign up as a free agent if you don’t have a team (we will have two free agent teams)
Price: $600 per team (max), or $60 per person
