Welcome to Spring Pickle Ball!

BARS is jumping on the pickleball craze! This introductory spring mini-season is an exploration of a frequent community request and will help us determine what a BARS-facilitated, LGBTQ+ pickleball league might look like.

Our spring league is a great place for players of all skill levels! You can sign-up with a full team or as an individual (to be placed on a team after registration is complete)!

Note:
Format: Teams will consist of 3-4 players.  Each team will play one match a week consisting of 3 games played to 11 points up to 45 minutes.  Best two out of three games wins the match. Players will rotate out throughout the match so that all players get equal playing time on average throughout the season. 

We will have 2 divisions to choose from.  A competitive division and a social division, each one consisting of 12 teams.  Schedules, format, and rules of the game will be the same for both divisions.  The season will be 7 weeks long. The first week will be an open play for all to come practice. The last week will be a tournament with seeding based on regular season play.

There will be 3 time slots of play and we will do our best to ensure each team’s time slots are evenly split throughout the season.  Time slots are 7:00pm, 8:00pm, and 8:45pm.

We will be playing according to national pickle ball rules. There will be no refs during regular season play so all calls will be made by the players. 

You may register as a formed team of 3-4 or as a solo free agent.  If you register as a team of 2 (minimum to register at first as a team), a free agent may be added to your team.  If you register as a team of 3, that will be your team and no other players will be added unless you request an additional 4th person. 

Only one person from your team needs to register for the team, and that person will email their teammates name to pickleball@bigapplerecsports.com. Registration fees will be collected from your teammates once initial registration is complete.
