Hey Big Apple Family,
Brr it’s cold in here! There must be some BARS players in the atmosphere! Our Winter Leagues are BACK and registration is almost here! We’ve got updates on Sunday No-Sting Dodgeball and Sunday Bowling so, read on to find out all the details!
On behalf of the entire Big Apple Rec Sports Board, we’d like to wish all of our players a very Happy Holiday & New Year! We’re all looking forward to kicking off our 2023 seasons!

Sunday No-Sting Dodgeball
There’s a change in the air for No-Sting Dodgeball Winter Season! This season, we will be hosting our very first No-Sting Draft Season. During registration, you can check the box stating you’re interested in captaining. Afterwards, those captains that are chosen will get to draft registered players for their teams.
Sunday League Details:
When*: January 22nd - March 12th at 4:30pm-7:30pm (8 weeks of matches)
Price: $100
Note: All registrants will be drafted onto a team
Sunday Registration Information:
Pre-Registration for Women & Gender Minorities**: Monday, December 19th, 6:00 pm - December 20th, 5:00 pm
Open Registration***: Tuesday, December 20th, 6:00 pm

*Dates, times, and locations are subject to change due to weather, court, or venue availability. Teams are randomly assigned. **Big Apple Rec Sports supports a mission to create diverse and inclusive environment for our players. In pursuit of this mission, women, trans and other gender minority players are invited to pre-register. ***Veteran status from Fall 2022 will not count towards this season, and will carry over to Spring 2023. Vet status will not be provided at the end of this season, like a mini tournament.
Ready to bowl? That’s right, Winter registration is just around the corner! Bowling seasons wait for no one, and now is not the time to rest on our teammates’ laps! Er, on our laurels.
Sunday Bowling Season Information:
When: Sundays, Feb 5th - March 26th (8 weeks), Two Timeslots, 12:45 pm - 2:45 pm & 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm (please note: timeslots are randomly assigned each week)
Price: $135
Sunday Bowling Registration Information:
Pre-Registration for Women & Gender Minorities: Jan 4th, 5:00pm - Jan 5th, 5:00 pm
Veteran Registration**: Jan 5th, 6:00 pm - Jan 6th, 5:00 pm
Open Registration: January 6th, 6:00 pm
