We’ve got some Kickball announcements and updates to share with you about Spring Weekend Kickball, Spring Wednesday Draft Kickball, an open BARS Kickball Board position, and Tuesday Kickball!

💐 Spring Weekend Kickball 💐
Weekend League Details:
When*: Friday, April 7th - Saturday, June 10th
Rain Date: Saturday, May 20th
Newbie Day: Saturday, April 1st
Price: $100
League Note: Each week, play days may vary between Fridays and Saturdays. The complete schedule, including times for each week, newbie day, and the rain date will be announced before the start of the season.
Weekend Registration Information:
Pre-Registration for our Women & Gender Minority players will start on Tuesday, February 28th, 6:00 pm, ending Wednesday, March 1st, 5:00 pm. All Women & Gender Minority players are welcome to pre-register!
Veteran Registration**: Wednesday, March 1st, 6:00 pm - Thursday, March 2nd, 5:00 pm
Open Registration: Thursday, March 2nd, 6:00 pm

🌸 Spring Wednesday Draft Kickball 🌸
Wednesday League Details:
When*: April 12th - June 7th at 8pm-10:30pm
Price: $100
League Format: Captain selection will take place following registration. All players who register will be drafted to a team!
Wednesday Registration Information:
Pre-Registration for our Women & Gender Minority players will start on Monday, February 27th, 6:00 pm, ending Tuesday, February 28th, 5:00 pm. All Women & Gender Minority players are welcome to pre-register!

❗️Tuesday Kickball Update❗️
The Parks Department will be refurbishing the Chelsea fields this April and at this time, Tuesday kickball will not occur for Spring. If anything changes, an announcement will be sent out. For those that achieved Tuesday Vet Status in Fall 2022, that will carry over to the next Tuesday Chelsea season when permits are secured.
📣 Wanted: Weekend Kickball Ops Manager 📣
Looking to get more involved with BARS? Want to help make sure your fellow players have an amazing time each and every season? Have some great ideas you’d love to put into action? Well, we want YOU! We’re looking for an Operations Manager for Weekend Kickball. Please find a summation of the position’s anticipated role within the league, below.
Operations Managers are the onsite point of contact for all players and integral players in game organization and league communication. The Ops Manager should be personable, love meeting people, and be great with names. Ops Managers are responsible for assisting refs in setup, breakdown, working on ref schedules, manage equipment and first aid kits, be responsible for organization of equipment bags, running open plays and newbie orientation, listening to player feedback and suggestions, help to ensure games stay on schedule, entering scores into our online system, and help to maintain the high-quality, positive-energy events for which we have come to be known.
Nomination Process
If you want to be considered for the role, Weekday Kickball Operations Manager, please send an e-mail to info@bigapplerecsports.com and let us know. Please include a statement about why you’d be a perfect fit for the position and feel free to add any ideas/proposals you may want to implement.
You can also nominate your fellow league members! Send any nominations our way in the same format: who you are nominating and why you think they’d be perfect for the role. Before appearing on the ballot, we will reach out and make sure they accept the nomination.
The submission deadline for nominations is Friday, March 10th, at 11:59 p.m.
The election will take place soon after and will be voted on by current board members. We hope to announce the new Operations Manager by Friday, March 17th.
